Definition
Breast tissue: Extends into the axilla (armpit area)
Nipple position: 2 cm below the chest fold
Chest fold shape: Significant skin excess - creates a small breast roll
Most common demographic: 40 - 60 years old, aging male, married or married with children.
Gynecomastia may not have been a major concern earlier in life, but now it seems to get worse quickly. This is caused by the aging process and the laxity of the skin. The skin is not tight enough to hold back the tissue of the breast. Increased chest volume and rounding of the chest fold is a real problem. Although the main factor is skin laxity due to aging, weight gain, a reduction in exercise, food hormones can also contribute. Shopping and shirtless clothes are more frustrating than ever before. Clothing fitted is no longer an option. Body mannerisms change around other people to ensure that the breasts are not visible-no sitting forward, holding hands on the hips, pulling your shirt out of your body, etc.
Married men who were all right with their gynecomastia before their important fellow are now becoming more self - conscious. Men with children are increasingly frustrated that due to embarrassment they do not take part in activities with their children.
